St. Louis Nursery/Primary School Ikere-Ekiti was established in the year 1997. The school was blessed and commissioned on the 15th of September, 1997 by Rev Fr. Paul Nwaneri, the parish priest of St Paul Catholic Church Afao Ikere - Ekiti. The first set of pupils that resumed that day was twenty-one and before the end of week the number rose to twenty four. The pupils were divided into three classrooms of Nursery 1A, Nursery 1B and Prep.

The first group of staff were Sr. Christiana Ibiang the teacher in charge of Nursery 1A, Mrs. Lydia Famuyiwa Nursery 1B teacher, Miss Yetunde Faparusi (R.I.P) Prep teacher, may her soul rest in peace. Sr Laurencia Daniel was the school bursar, Mrs. Yetunde Adesina as the Secretary, Miss Ronke Aruleba, Omolayo Joshua and Funke Adebayo were helpers, Mr. Joshua Omotayo as the gardener and a school cook with REV. SR. RACHAEL ALONGE as the headmistress.
