CHRISTMAS CANTATA OF THE YEAR (2023/2024)

The glamorous, joyful and lovely day usually celebrated in every 12th month of the year is the big Cantata Day, we call it, Christmas Cantata. A day to celebrate the gift of God towards mankind, the birth of our Lord Jesus.

Around this time, there is always this atmosphere of joy, love and glamour everywhere, such was the atmosphere at St. Louis Nursery and Primary School Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State this year, 2023 starting from the 1st of December.
Everywhere was light and in the Christmas mood. The Cantata committee had started preparation earlier with the decorations of the school compound and the selling of different exciting Christmas toys for pupils such as fiery wings, swords, light pens, bands, wristwatches,  etc.

The big day came which was on the 13th of December, 2023 with the arrival of Father Christmas in the company of two other Christmas bears at 8am while the pupils were on the assembly.  As expected, the excitement from the pupils couldn't be contained as they all screamed out loud in Joy and rushed to see. Each class went to see Father's Christmas and was given gifts.

Moreover, from the assembly, the pupils returned to their different classes to eat their breakfast, after which they all came downstairs with their chairs for the big day celebration.

The programme started at around 10 pm with the opening prayer by Rev. Sr. Adekayero.
Parents and pupils were dressed in different Christmas wear. The anchor of the programme was Mr. Paul Adesina and Miss. Ojo Motunrayo.

Thereafter, the presentations by pupils followed, and then the headmistress(Sr. Lucia) speech to the parents.

The parents were not left out too, as they too presented their Christmas songs with melodious voices. The teachers' presentation crowned it all with their choreography which made everyone laugh from ear to ear.

The thanksgiving of each class was done, from creche to primary 6, followed by the teachers and P.T.A. chairman together with the sisters of St. Louis.

All the glory was returned to God who granted a bright day and a successful Christmas Cantata celebration as the programme was brought to an end with a closing prayer and the parents left with their children, everyone returned safely back to their different destinations.
